Taking the precious things we have apart to see how they work
We spent the day Monday in Saint Augustine Florida, the oldest European settlement in the US, getting to know Fallon and her team at East Coast VW Restoration.
St. Augustine is a magical place. We stayed at the amazing St. Augustin Inn. And you just couldn't meet nicer more knowledgeable folks. They've restored over 160 buses and it shows. There's a joy and peace in their work that only comes with true experience, confidence, and competence.
Today we set ourselves a big goal. Completely disassemble the bus, label and library all the parts, and clean the steel to assess the job and get it ready for steel fabrication, welding and body work.
Time budget? 1 Day.
And we did it.
A testament to the simple design of the machine and the expertise of the folks at ECVWR.
